Nature of Motivation:
Motivation is a psychological phenomenon that occurs within a person. A person lacks some needs, which makes him satisfied that he is overworked. The need to satisfy the ego motivates a person to do better in general.
The following are the nature of motivation:
Direction component: Motivation is an important component of directing management tasks. It is the responsibility of managers to motivate their subordinates to achieve all objectives.
Psychological aspect: Motivation is the psychological aspect of management. It is the inner feeling that arises from the needs and desires of a person. Motivation originates from within a person. It starts and keeps the person at work.
Motivation is goal-directed: Motivation requires you to set a clear and powerful goal. Motivation produces goal-directed behavior. A person has to behave in such a way that he tries to satisfy himself as the person feels the need. Human needs behavior to achieve desired goals. Goal setting is an important part of the motivation.
Continuous process: Motivation is a continuous process. Where a particular need is satisfied, a new need is seen. It is the result of the interaction between human needs and offering incentives to satisfy them.
Motivation is related to the requirements: Needs are deficiencies that are created when there is a physical or psychological imbalance. To motivate a person, we have to understand his needs and wants of the individual that calls for satisfaction.
Integrated: A person is either inspired or not. He may not be partially motivated. Each person in an organization is a self-contained separate entity. All their needs are interconnected and affect their behavior in different ways.
Motivation can be either Positive or Negative: Motivation can be positive or negative. Positive motivation means motivating people to do better by providing rewards and encouragement. Negative motivation means forcing an individual to work by punishing them.
Motivation is a complex and dynamic process: Motivation is a complex and dynamic process. Individuals differ in their needs and want. Different individuals work to meet their needs. They fulfill their need in different ways. Also, human change is required from time to time.
A motive can be in many different behaviors: A desire for prestige can lead a person to pay money, receive additional academic training, run for political office, steal, join groups or change his or her outer appearance. A person seeking approval will behave differently in a carpool, swimming pool or office secretarial pool.
Motives are the energizing forces within us: These forces are invisible and are very difficult to measure because we are all different and the motives that motivate us at one point vary from time to time. Observing one’s behavior may indicate that a certain need exists in this person that motivates him later.
