Importance of motivation:
Management tries to use all sources of production in the best way. This can be achieved only when employees cooperate in this task. Efforts should be made to motivate employees for their maximum contribution. Management efforts will not bear fruit if employees are not encouraged to work more. Motivated employees become an asset to the organization.
The importance of motivation are as follows:
High Performance: Motivated employees will make maximum efforts to achieve organizational goals. Unused reservoirs are tapped to maximize physical and mental abilities. Better performance will also lead to higher productivity. If productivity is increased, the cost of production can also be brought down. Employees should be offered more incentives to enhance their performance. Motivation plays an important role in encouraging employees for improving performance.
Organizational Goal: Machine, equipment, money cannot be used effectively when employees are not motivated to work to the maximum extent in an organization. Also it helps in achieving organizational goals.
Better organizational image: Enterprises that provide better monetary and non-monetary facilities to their employees have a better image among them. Such concerns succeed in attracting better qualified and experienced individuals. As there is better manpower for the development program, employees would prefer to join such organizations. Motivational efforts will also simplify the work of workers.
Reduced employee turnover and absenteeism: When employees are not satisfied with their jobs, they will leave it when they receive an alternative offer. Dissatisfaction in employees also increases absenteeism. The cost of employment training of new employees is costly to the organization. When employees are satisfied with their jobs and are well motivated by giving them financial and non-financial incentives, they will not quit. The absenteeism rate will also be lower as they try to increase their production.
Better industrial relations: A good motivational system of the organization creates job satisfaction among employees. Employment will offer better service conditions and various other incentives for the employees of the organization or company. There will be an atmosphere of confidence in the employees and employees. There will be no reason for conflict and amicable relations between the two sides which will create an atmosphere of health. Therefore motivation will lead to better industrial relations among employees.

This can be done by building a desire in employees to do the work. This will help the enterprise to secure the best possible use of resources.

New and improved methods of work will need to be implemented from time to time. Generally, employees oppose change for fear of adverse effects on their employment. When employees are given various development opportunities, they can easily adapt to new situations.
Less Disputes and Strikes: Disputes and strikes by the employees harmful for organizational activities. When employees are not motivated they are dissatisfied which creates controversy in the organization.
